Quilters are ladies who gather to sew quilts, quilted projects, and other machine and hand-sewn items. We meet each week, on Thursday’s from 9 a.m. to noon in the Main Hall of the Clubhouse. At 9:00 a.m. is a short business meeting and then “Circle Time” for show and tell. Ladies share what they are working on as well as UFO projects that they finally completed!! Many talented members demonstrate new techniques, tips, and quilt patterns. It is a joy to see all the creative masterpieces.
Monthly communication is handled via email. Just email the secretary to get on the chain to keep up to date with all the news and projects completed at home or while on the island. Membership dues is only $5.00 per year which is collected in January.
Extended time to sew is scheduled on random Sundays throughout the season. This time is called “Quilting Overnight” which begins at 2:00 p.m. and goes until the last lady decides to go home!!! Please see the calendar for specific dates.
Please come join in – even if it’s to see all the great items made by the Quilters. Goals each year include charity work for local agencies and Spring Festival.
A Nettles Island History Quilt can be seen in the Mail Hall on the wall adjacent to parking lot. This quilt was done many years ago by the members. A true work of Art.
